The word “Root doctor” is an Afroamerican term. It is one of the cultural terms for what is more commonly called a “witchdoctor”. Although we work with both Hoodoo and the more local Trolldom tradition we set the title of our work to “therootdoctor” a tribute to our long term Hoodoo teacher - Miss Catherine Yronwode.
