About Johannes B. Gårdbäck.

I have recived people for traditional healing and curing for almost 25 years but it is only in the last 15 years that I had it as a full time occupation. In the beginning my practice was based entirely on what is called"gift" - in my case the ability to see and feel “a bit more than others”, as we say here in Sweden, and the ability to do something about it using my “warm hands”. Later, I acquired certifications in several physical therapies such as Swedish Massage, Kinesology, Shiatsu, Trigger point therapy and became a wellness therapist. Today most people in the conjure world know me as "Dr. Johannes". The title of  "doctor" refers to my practice as a Root doctor an my skills in healing and was originally given to me by clients insisting on its use.

Trolldom

To preserve and spread the word about our Nordic folk magic tradition of Trolldom and folklore is something very close to my heart. Here is a picture from Torsby Finn Culture Museum in Sweden and an old magic rune staff preserved there. Spending time talking to old folks about what their grandparents used to to for this or that condition or how things were done in the old days as well as the enormous folklore archives has enabled me to be a modern carrier of this old folk tradition as well as a preserver of knowledge.

Hoodoo Conjure

In the late 1990's I began to hear of "Hoodoo" in the U.S. and that there were teachers who still worked in a similar way as wise man and cunning women of old used to do here. After digging a little deeper, I realized that the difference between our traditions were so small that I decided to join a course offered by a Catherine Yronwoode at something called “The Lucky Mojo Curio Co”. It turned out to be very good and after a year of intense work and practice, I graduated the course as the first European and soon after I went over to the US to complete the apprenticeship program.

Natural Magic

I have had the priviledge of become aqainted with and trained by the magician Draja Mickaharic in the art of Natural Magic. Natural magic includes training the classical skills of a  magician as well as summoning techniques, spirit work and a wide array of spells and effective techniques. The training is individually adapted and personal and very difficult to master.
